Work is currently underway on the first floor of the helios st.-elisabeth hospital bad kissingen remodeling inspections. According to the company, the hospital is currently relocating several points of contact within the building in order to save patients a journey and at the same time improve the logistical structure in the building.

In the entrance area of the first floor, according to the company's announcement, the elective patient admission will take place as of the end of october. This means that all patients who are planning to go to hospital register there. This way, patients are directly admitted as soon as they enter the clinic via the main entrance. Previously, the patient admission area was located in the emergency outpatient department. The space freed up there will be used from november for the on-call practice of the health insurance association (kassenarztliche vereinigung, KV). In this way, the staff on site can quickly and easily decide whether a patient is an acute case for the emergency room of the hospital or for the emergency medical service of the health insurance fund. Patients will thus be able to receive all-round care in the clinic outside the opening hours of their general practitioners. This will improve the cooperation between the helios st.-elisabeth hospital and the outpatient medical care in bad kissingen further improved.

Finally, the social services department will also be relocated from the first basement to the reception hall. This means that this important point of contact for patients and their families is being moved from a rather hidden location to a central point in the building. "We always want to spare our patients long journeys and are constantly trying to improve our processes. These ideas, developed together, take us a big step forward", according to clinic manager daniel amrein.The renovation work required for the project on the first floor of the elisabeth hospital is already in full swing and is expected to be completed by mid october. No impact on current patient stays is expected, the company says.

14,000 patients per year

The helios st.-according to its own statements, the elisabeth hospital in bad kissingen, with its ten specialist and two occupancy departments, and the helios orthoclinic in hammelburg, with its focus on orthopedics, have a combined total of 275 beds in which around 550 employees care for some 14,000 patients a year. Helios describes itself as europe's leading private hospital operator. The company owns the helios clinics in germany and quironsalud in spain. In germany, helios has 111 acute and rehabilitation clinics, 89 medical care centers (mvzs), four rehabilitation centers, 17 prevention centers and 12 care facilities. Helios and quironsalud belong to the fresenius healthcare group.
